Does Thor fight Loki? “Thor” and future “Avengers” star Chris Hemsworth dropped a lot of headline-worthy news on us when he stopped by MTV’s Comic-Con live stream last weekend. He talked about landing the role of the God of Thunder, how he felt naked without his famous hammer and how Mike Tyson inspired his fighting style for the film.
With regard to that extensive training, one big question on fans’ minds is: Will Thor and his ever-envious adopted brother Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, come to blows in the film? Hemsworth spoke to that issue, and the short answer is “yes.” But the long answer includes Hemsworth’s playful retelling of shooting one of Thor and Loki’s pivotal action scenes.

Can we say awesome? I can’t wait for the film to come out! Please keep in mind that this is likely to be pulled in the very near future like the Comic-Con videos were, so check it out while it’s still available.
Chris Hemsworth is no stranger to TV and film — he appeared in last summer’s mega-hit “Star Trek” — but in tackling the starring role in Marvel’s 2011 superhero film “Thor,” the 26-year-old enters a whole new category of leading man. When MTV News caught up with Hemsworth, he revealed that “Thor” director Kenneth Branagh had helped in his superhero education by giving him some pre-shoot homework.
“I read so many different books and comic books,” Hemsworth told us at San Diego Comic-Con. “Ken, when I got the part, gave me a stack of things and said, ‘Look, read what you want, I’m not going to test you at the end of it.’ ”

Following his appearnace at Comic-Con, Chris Hemsworth left fanboys — and girls — in awe of his muscular “Thor†physique.
As it turns out, the fans aren’t the only ones who have taken a liking to this rising star — his co-star Natalie Portman is a big fan, too.
While promoting the film, Natalie, who plays Jane Foster, a nurse and the first love of Chris’ title character, spoke with AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman about the Aussie actor and the upcoming fame he is sure to gain from this landing this action-packed role.
“He’s so grounded, kind and just a nice, normal person,†she said. “I know he’s going to be able to handle all of that with incredible grace. He already has.â€
Chris’ star status will change dramatically as he stars as “Thor,†the hammer-wielding superhero fans have come to love from the Marvel comic book. For the role, he bulked up in muscle mass to fill out his character’s nice, big red cape. He even shows off a long blonde wig.

Every superhero has a unique weapon at his or her disposal. Iron Man has a wide array of highly advanced armored outfits in his multibillion-dollar wardrobe. Black Widow is a sultry threat with graceful moves capable of taking her opponents down to the mat every single time. Captain America wields a shield, uniform and ideology that embodies the great American dream.
So, what does Thor have on his side, other than his mighty hammer, Mjolnir? Well, how about a Mike Tyson-inspired knockout punch?
At Comic-Con International in San Diego, MTV News spoke with “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth about his leading role in the Marvel Studios comic book adaptation. In addition to discussing his character’s iconic hammer and his sleek armored appearance, Hemsworth spoke to his character’s fighting style, which draws inspiration from Tyson’s renowned boxing prowess.

After debuting to a raucous crowd at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, the key players comprising “The Avengers” gang are now set. What’s not yet clear is which of the superheroes in this Marvel all-star team will assume the leadership role. According to comic book lore, Captain America is the guy who unites many of the heroes — including Thor and Iron Man — but the man who will hold Thor’s hammer on the big screen next year is not so sure the Captain is assured the boss role.
“Big egos,” Chris Hemsworth laughed to MTV News shortly before the announcement of the “Avengers” cast at Con, adding that Thor does not like to be ordered around. “I don’t think he likes to be. I don’t think any of them do. That’s what’s so interesting.”
