It’s that time of year when the biggest studios bring actors, directors and writers from their most anticipated blockbusters to tens of thousands of fans at San Diego Comic-Con.
None are as prominent as Marvel Studios. Marvel Entertainment, in general, has always dominated SDCC, but it’s the company’s studio division that has reinvigorated fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This year should be the same.
The question is what Marvel Studios plans to bring to SDCC. Speculation?
The Avengers: Infinity War | D23 attendees saw the first Infinity War trailer, and while there’s a very good chance it will be shown again to Hall H attendees at SDCC, don’t expect it to go online anytime soon. Marvel is notorious for not publishing its trailers online, instead keeping them exclusive to conventions.
Thor: Ragnarok | Don’t expect Ragnarok to take up much of Marvel’s panel as the release is right around the corner, so it doesn’t need as much hyping up as other projects. However, there will be a “Thor: Ragnarok” SDCC presence — Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and maybe even Jeff Goldblum will all be on hand.
Fans can also expect Captain Marvel, Black Panther and possibly Antman and the Wasp goodies.
While all eyes are on Daniel Craig as he reportedly mulls over returning as James Bond, Chris Hemsworth has an idea for his replacement should he not reprise his role as 007.
Hemsworth tells W magazine his Snow White And The Huntsman co-star Charlize Theron fits the bill because, “she scares the Hell out of me and I think she can beat me up [better than] most villains out there.”
The actor was in awe of Theron on Snow White, watching her tackle complex choreographed fight scenes with ease, even in a long gown and high heels.
“Watching her in those fight scenes, doing it in high heels, by the way, and an 8-foot long gown was even more impressive,” he says, calling her, “Smart as Hell.”
“She embodies every sort of ounce of strength and nobility and dignity and integrity that that character should have,” he says. “Why not? It’s time.” (Source)
When Entertainment Tonight caught up with the 41-year-old actress at the premiere of her new movie, Atomic Blonde, in Berlin, Germany, Charlize joked that she paid Hemsworth for the compliment.
“Chris – so, you got that check I sent you?” Theron joked. “Thanks, dude. I got your back.”
“Oh wow,” she continued, on a more serious note. “That’s so insanely generous and nice. I don’t even know what to do with that. That’s really sweet.” (Source)
Chris sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss his latest partnership with HUGO Boss as the official spokesman for the “Boss Bottled” fragrance. While chatting with the entertainment show, he commented on brother, Liam’s much-talked-about short-shorts Instagram photo.

Chris Hemsworth has a new role to add to his resume: He’s now the brand ambassador for Hugo Boss’ Boss Bottled and the brand’s Man of Today campaign. To start off, he’ll be starring in a campaign launching in the U.S. this month to celebrate the newest addition to the Boos fragrance family, the citrusy, woodsy Boss Bottled Tonic.
Speaking with Us magazine exclusively, Chris stated: “I feel great about being the new face of [the fragrances]. It’s a huge honour and I really identify with the values that the ‘Man of Today’ stands for. Life should be a journey of passion, honesty and integrity and be about having a greater awareness of your impact in the community and the people you interact with.”

Marvel Studios are set to promote their expanding universe on July 22nd. No official which (if any) of the Marvel superstars will appear. With Thor: Ragnarok set to arrive in theatres in November, it is expected Chris will be among those attending. Take a look below for additional panel details.

Posted on Author RachelComments Off on Chris Lends His Voice to Children’s App “The Big Tree”
Chris has given his voice to a new children’s app that uses narratives and games to teach young children problem solving strategies and calming techniques.
The Australian Childhood Foundation launched the new BIG TREE APP, which also features the voices of his mother, Leonie Hemsworth, and Nadine Garner.
The app was originally developed for children suffering from trauma, but is appropriate for all children under eight years of age.
“Research tells us that all children need a strong sense of belonging and connection with carers and family to develop important regulation as they grow up, Australian Childhood Foundation CEO Dr Joe Tucci said. “The central stories about trust, respect and love show children that challenges can be overcome and that seeking out people who care about you when you are unhappy, stressed or confused can help you feel calmer.”
The app incorporates four core narratives featuring four main characters: Morten the Monster (voice of Chris Hemsworth), Ellen the Caterpillar (voice of Leonie Hemsworth), Ollie the Monkey (voice of Chris Hemsworth) and Sleepy Susan the Cat (voice of Nadine Garner).
Each of the characters helps children to consider the emotions and thoughts associated with challenges that come to be resolved through the support of friends.
The app even teaches young children breathing relaxation techniques and has playful activities that can be shared with parents of carers. (Source)
Actors Chris Hemsworth, Diego Luna, Nashla Bogaer and pro surfer Ramon Navarro teamed up for an unconventional beer ad. The four celebrities joined Corona and Parley AIR in their newest long-term initiative to end plastic pollution, which is detrimental to the world’s oceans.
The two companies plan to “protect 100 Islands by 2020 starting in six key regions in different parts of the world – Mexico, Maldives, Australia, Chile, Italy and Dominican Republic,” as they announced in a statement. In the next three years, they intend to have cleaner oceans and beaches.
The four celebrities shared social media posts in support of their new partnership and also starred in the powerful video released by Corona x Parley.
“When you picture beautiful islands and other beach destinations, you imagine them in their pristine state with clear blue waters, but then you see the problem up close and you realize that we are destroying paradise through our careless use of plastic,” said Luna. I’m particularly proud to be affiliated with a program that is not only committed to protecting beaches around the world, but also in my homeland Mexico.”
Hemsworth added, “I’ve spent a large part of my life in and around the ocean, it’s where a lot of my happiest memories came from. If I had anxieties or worries, I’d head to the ocean and it was always the place where I could reset and be 100% present. I want to inspire people to find a solution and protect the world’s oceans so future generations can enjoy them like I do.”

Posted on Author RachelComments Off on Chris Thought Marvel Had Fired Him
Although Captain America: Civil War was billed as a Captain America movie, it was more or less an Avengers movie. Many jokingly called it Avengers 2.5. Some members of the team did have to sit the big brawl out, though. Namely Thor and Hulk. It turns out that because he wasn’t included, Chris Hemsworth thought he’d actually been fired from his role as Thor.
The actor recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about his upcoming movie Thor: Ragnarok, his third solo movie as the God of Thunder. In his mind, that movie wasn’t even going to happen. At least not with him, since he didn’t get to duke it out with some of the other Marvel superheroes in Captain America: Civil War. Luckily he wasn’t right, but it is kind of funny to think that someone so beloved by Marvel fans even had to have that thought. Here is what he had to say about it.
“I was like, ‘What? Are we being fired?’ Marvel quickly reassured [Mark and Chris], ‘No you guys have got your own journey going on, and in order for that to work you can’t be a part of this one.’ Look, it turned out just perfect because we got to do a whole different kind of thing we wouldn’t have able to do otherwise”.
Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi and is set for release on November 3rd. (Source)
Posted on Author RachelComments Off on Chris Gushes About Working With Wife, Elsa Pataky
Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky are working together for the first time in the upcoming war film, Horse Soldiers, and Entertainment Tonight got Chris to open up about the experience.
“It is great,” Hemsworth told ET’s Cameron Mathison on the New Mexico set. “Very little prep time needed to form that chemistry. It was fantastic.”
“They said, ‘Look, we are big fans of your wife, and we would love it if she came and played your wife in this,’ and I said, ‘Great!'”
Horse Soldiers, based on Doug Stanton’s non-fiction book of the same name, follows a group of U.S. Special Forces sent to Afghanistan to fight against the Taliban after the attacks of September 11, 2001.
The film’s title stems from the fact that horses were the troops’ main mode of transportation, but fortunately for Hemsworth, he was able to draw on previous experience.
“We did a little horse shooting in the first Thor,” he pointed out. “I also had the best horse, Carly. I would tell them it was my horsemanship and my skill, but it was not that.”
And while New Mexico is safer than Afghanistan, Mathison got a small taste of the real thing while witnessing an action sequence is the desert.
“An incredible firefight is going on right behind me,” Mathison shouted over the sound of simulated gunfire. “I got to keep my head down. It’s getting loud out here.”
Hemsworth revealed that the cast went through a three-week training program before they began filming in order to form a bond between them and get a real sense of what it’s like to rely on each other in the battlefield.
“It was a lot of weapons training, a lot of movement training,” Hemsworth said. “It was great, because you can’t really fake this stuff.”
