With production on the Marvel sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron currently taking place in the UK, Total Film managed to catch up with director Joss Whedon who shared a few comments on the sequel to 2012?s mega-blockbuster The Avengers.

“The model I’m always trying to build from is The Godfather: Part II, where a ton has happened in between and it’s a very different movie, but you don’t need any information. You’re in the vernacular of the first movie and you’re ready to just pick up in this new place. It’s got a sci-fi element to it that’s stronger than the other film. And it’s a little bit darker. Getting the team together was so rousing, but keeping the team together is a completely different problem. “Natasha is a huge part of the sequel. You want to concentrate on the people who don’t have their own franchises.”

Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release in the UK on April 24th 2015 and North America on May 1st 2015. (Source)

It is being reported that Frank Darabont is currently in negotiations to direct Universal’s Snow White And The Huntsman 2. The original film was directed by Rupert Sanders and grossed close to $400 million worldwide on a $170M budget.

The studio is considering the movie a spinoff, not a sequel, and sparked to Darabont’s pitch, which focused almost exclusively on Chris Hemsworth‘s Huntsman character. It remains to be seen whether Kristen Stewart will reprise her role as Snow White.

Darabont, who helmed The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, also hatched The Walking Dead and helped forge it into cable TV’s top-rated drama. (Source)

We should take this report with a grain of salt but KDramaStars is reporting that The Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer is going to be shown at this years Comic Con. They say that the “trailer would be vastly different from the teaser shown on the San Diego Comic Con 2013 where no footage from the movie was shown (because filming hasn’t started then) but the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer for San Diego Comic Con 2014 would actually feature real footage from the movie.”

With X-Men: Days of Future Past now in theatres, Hugh Jackman has been making the press rounds, where he revealed that he would love to see his Wolverine character team up with Marvel Studios’ Avengers. Take a look at what the actor had to say during a recent interview with IGN.

“I would love to see him as part of The Avengers. Because there’s a great dysfunction among that team, and I think Wolverine would fit right into that. He’d like that. There’s no doubt he’d get in a fight with Hulk at some point. Those two bad, rage-filled characters are going to square off at some point. It would be quite fun. I don’t know how much fun to shoot it would be because I’m sure I’d be on the worst end of it, but hey, he can heal.”

Avengers: Age of Ultron comes to theaters May 1st, 2015 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Mark Ruffalo. The film is directed by Joss Whedon. (Source)

As is customary for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s been revealed that U.K. fans will get to see Joss Whedon’s eagerly-anticipated Avengers: Age of Ultron a week earlier than fans across the Pond, with Marvel announcing that the sequel will open in the U.K. and Ireland on April 24th 2015 (as opposed to its U.S. date of May 1st).

Meanwhile, with filming on Age of Ultron currently taking place in the U.K., director Joss Whedon has offered up a few words about shooting in the country, telling Empire that:

“The number of different looks and textures and moods we’re getting from the British locations is stupid awesome. Because this, palette-wise, is very different. I’m trying to make a different film. Because why would you make one movie twice? That seems weird.”

Whedon also spoke about the roster expansion for The Avengers sequel, as well as the new villain, stating: “I fiercely dislike the idea of just throwing in more people for the sake of doing that, but last time I had all of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes versus one British character actor, and I needed more conflict… I’m having a blast with Ultron. He’s not a creature of logic – he’s a robot who’s genuinely disturbed. We’re finding out what makes him menacing and at the same time endearing and funny and strange and unexpected, and everything a robot never is.”

Avengers: Age of Ultron sees Marvel veterans Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (The Incredible Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Paul Bettany (JARVIS / The Vision) joined in the cast by new additions Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass 2) as Quicksilver, Elizabeth Olsen (Oldboy) as the Scarlet Witch, James Spader (The Blacklist) as Ultron and Thomas Kretschmann (Dracula) as Baron Strucker. "Chris Hemsworth is like Christopher Reeve in that he can do two things: he can wear a big red cape without a shred of self-consciousness. But he's also funny as hell, and he's so sweet. So with all the fish-out-of-water stuff, he's so funny. So he does almost two jobs in a way."
